This compact package with “melted” exterior makes this gun easy to maneuver in tight spaces with nothing to snag. The barrel is nested into the bolt body (like the UZI) so even with it’s 16” barrel, it is still as short or shorter than most AR-SBRs but without the NFA hassle. I purchased one when they were first released because of the truly ambidextrous controls. I have and enjoy both, however.ĮTA3: The beretta CX4 might be GTG in some ban states if that is a consideration for you. If I bought one for it (I guess I must have) I had forgotten about it.ĮTA2: If you aren't married to a Beretta 92 then I would consider the CZ Skorpion as probably a better gun in just about every way and similar in price. It is an odd duck, but it grows on you.ĮTA: Reading above, I didn't know the top rail was not included. Perfect gun for new shooters to try out on falling steel plates. It is a good gun anyway, and it is a goddamn hoot to shoot. If the trigger was better on the stock model I would really be a fan. Get a Maglula loader or suffer a thumbectomy. Lastly, the extended 30rd Beretta mags are a whore to load. Result is now much better, but hardly a match pistol! IIRC (this was years ago) it was a hefty ?280? bucks or so. I don't recall the company (third party) I went through but I replaced the entire trigger control set with a metal set. This turns the pull to merely shitty, as the plastic hammer has no mass and this means heavy springs are an absolute requirement for proper ignition. You can improve the mating of the plastic trigger control parts with judicious shaving with an Xacto knife. The reason is Beretta decided to use (not kidding) a plastic hammer on this model. It is truly ambidextrous- swapping over the mag release and cocking handle are also easily accomplished.Ĭons: trigger has all of the faults a trigger can. Barrel is chrome lined, the direction of ejection of empties is easily accomplished with no extra tools or parts.

Factory sights are useful as is, fold out of the way so you can get a good cheekweld for use with a red dot. Push the front swing swivel in, and a small piece of accessory rail slides out. Accuracy, reliability (functions 100% even when absolutely filthy), short overall length.
